What was your favorite project to create? Why? My favorite project to create was the sgraffito project. I enjoyed making the sgraffito a lot and I think it turned out the best out of all my projects. I made this project based on my favorite sports teams logo and it looks great. It was fun to trace and paint the logo onto the clay plate. I had fun making this project and I thought it was the coolest one.
Think about a time when you struggled or found something difficult? How were you able to overcome this struggle? If you were not able to overcome this, why do you think it was? I was able to overcome my struggles in this class every time. I did not struggle to often but when I did I had help. When I was confused or did not know what to do in this class I either asked Mrs. August or asked my class mates for help. Each time I needed help my class mates or teacher had the answer so I was able to fix it.
Think about the first time you walked into ceramics, what did you know, what didn't you know... Now, explain to me how you have grown over the semester in your ability to do ceramics? My ceramics abilities got a lot stronger throughout the semester. You can easily tell the improvement from my first projects to the ones we did at the end of the semester. My sgraffito and smooth coil pot look better and well put together than my first couple projects. I was able to learn knew techniques to enhance my artwork. At the beginning of the semester I was unsure on how to even make a good pinch pot, now I could make a smooth and great pinch pot with ease. My skills in this class got better from project to project and I feel good about the work I completed in ceramics. Scratching and attaching, carving, coil designs all of these techniques and projects we did helped me grow in my ceramic ability and feel more advanced about ceramics in general.
